Kathie was born to the late Howard and Mildred Painter on August 26, 1947 in Sandusky, Ohio. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Sandusky, Ohio and Davis Business College, Toledo, Ohio.
In the winter of 1968, Kathie was out with her friends when V. Michael Waldron asked her to dance. The two celebrated the Sacrament of Matrimony on April 4, 1970 and enjoyed over 50 years as husband and wife. They raised their family in Norwalk, Ohio. Later, they retired to Fort Myers, Florida where they enjoyed dinners at the beach with friends, game nights and traveling. Kathie had a passion for reading and enjoyed discussing her readings at Book Club.
Kathie loved her family deeply. Kathie's children, Julie (Scott), Hallsville, Texas and Brian (Jennifer) Collingswood, New Jersey could always count on their Mom to be in the stands cheering for them at their sporting events and bringing cupcakes to class parties. Despite the miles between them as adults, Kathie's support for her children never wavered. Kathie's grandchildren, Eliza and Ethan Caswell, Sara, Emily and Noah Waldron could always count on her to make them smile by texting them a Bitmoji!
Kathie is also survived by her five siblings, Karen Painter, Sister Laureen Painter, Daniel Painter, David Painter and Michael Painter. They share great memories of family picnics at Kathie and Mike's country home with all of the nieces and nephews.
A devout Catholic, Kathie's faith was strong. She was an active member of Saint Alphonsus, Peru, Ohio and Saint Columbkille, Fort Myers, Florida.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Columbkille Parish on Friday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Parish Memorial Garden.
