Kenneth Robert Price, 84, of Grove City, Florida died on October 23, 2023. He was born on November 19, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he would say that he was raised by his mother, Laura M. Funk, and his step-father, John Funk. Ken is survived by his wife, Judy A. Price, his daughter Laura E. Price, his son-in-law, Scott Davis, his grandchild, Gus Davis, and his sister, Loretta Wicker, as well as a ridiculously large number of family, friends, and “adopted” kids for a man whose biker nickname was “The Lone Rider.”
Ken spent nine years in the United States Marine Corps; he lived in multiple US states and also Japan, and he did everything you can think of and then a few more things on top of that. Driver, courier, cameraman, stuntman (for one day), tugboat captain, TV installer, motorcycle racer—Ken drove his body like he stole it, far past the point of it being street legal, until the tires fell off.
Ken’s great joys were movies (we don’t know how many times he watched Bullitt, but it was a lot), cowboy hats, photography, his dogs, coffee, motorcycles, cars, books about time travel—but, most of all, he loved his family, both original and chosen. Nearly everyone reading this can tell you a story about Ken showing up when they needed him, then taking off on his bike or in his truck with a hug and a grin. That’s how you should think of the end of his life—Ken giving you that Ken Price grin, headed off into the sunset, wearing a cowboy hat and holding a thermos of coffee in one hand.
