

Leroy Levon McKnight, 73, of Fort Myers passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 2, 2020. He was born in Fort Myers on October 25, 1946. A proud United States Army Veteran who served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.

Leroy was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and National Rifle Association (NRA). He retired from the United States Army before pursuing a career with the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by his wife Ethel; children: Cassie Goosby-Johnston, Velisicia (Leworth Simms) McKnight-Simms, Patrice Green-Stewart, Tanya McKnight, Kindretta (Elijah) Williams, Ocean McKnight, Keith (Nikki) Green, Kenneth Green and William Green-McKnight; Brothers: Ira Henderson and Kenneth (Yolanda) Henderson as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Leroy was preceded in death by his mother: Anne Pearl Johnson- McKnight; His Father: Walter Ware; His sisters: Lucille Thomas and Helen McKnight and His brothers: Curtis Goosby and Ernest Goosby.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, August 20 at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 Fort Myers, FL 33913. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Larry Green and interment will be private. Info (239) 334-4880
