Louis N. Nigro, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida and formerly of Montville, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Hospice Care Center: Cape Coral, FL. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey to his parents, the late Dominick and Edith (Santillo) Nigro on August 6, 1932.
Louis joined the US Navy directly from high school and served honorably during the Korean War. After the war he worked in the trucking business at Moon Carrier, Clifton, New Jersey, then the bus transportation business where he was employed for 41 years at DeCamp Bus Lines, Montclair, New Jersey which he retired from in 1997.
He was a loving husband and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Suzanne (DeCamp) Nigro, and a half-brother, Michael Gintella (Karin), and cousin Ralph Santillo (Alma). Louis was preceded in death by his son Louis Nigro Jr. from his first marriage, his brother Anthony Nigro, his late wife Theresa Viscito, and a half-sister Edith Gintella.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in New Jersey yet to be determined. In Lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 75846, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
