I grew up as a daughter of Principle Trout. It was a big responsibility and I was proud to be his daughter. Although by the time I was at NRHS Dad had been in FL for several years, he still was a vivid part of my high school years. Dad was always encouraging me and I will miss those phone calls when we would talk and talk about everything. I love you Dad and look forward to seeing you again when I too join the Heavenly Choir. Give Grandmother and Grandfather a big for me. God, thank you for blessing me with Phillip Keith Trout as my Dad.

Dear Mr.  Trout,  you were a good principal and a really good guy. There were times that you could've thrown the book at me but didn't.  I didn't waste your chances. I've even served on a school board myself. May your family find solace in the fact that you touched so many and, in my humble opinion,  made the world a better place. God be with you all.

I grew up with Patti, Cindy and Brian Trout in North Ridgeville, Ohio. We grew up like we were cousins and remain so today. Patti is my best and longest friend since I was three and Mr. Trout's first wife and daughter, Cindy, were my babysitters. We met at Fields United Methodist Church, in North Ridgeville. Mr. Trout was busy at school but he always took the time to talk to me and let me know he cared about my friendship with his family. When he moved to Florida and married Peggy, they welcomed me into their home in Ft. Meyers one week, with Patti. Although I was only there a week, Peggy, her 4 boys and Mr. Trout were so nice to me. We went to the beach, and toured Sanibell Island and the Henry Ford museum. I appreciate your kindness and hospitality. As an adult and parent, I now know what a big undertaking it is to have two extra kids in an already busy household. Thank you. I never went back to visit Mr. Trout and his family in Ft. Meyers but I never forgot the nice time I had. The last time I saw him was over 10 years ago when he was visiting friends in Ohio. I also had the pleasure of being with Glenna Palmer and her family on that same Florida visit, and send my condolences to her family too. His death is so sad and I wish I could be there for you all. May God Bless you all with peace and comfort during this difficult time.

We have fond memories of laughter and fellowship with Phil from our days of working together at North Ridgeville High School.  May he rest in peace.

I may not have known you personally, but you were loved my many. You were an amazing husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. May you forever Rest In Peace!

I am saddened by the death of a great person. It is from this sadness that a feeling of gratitude emerges. I feel honored to have known Phil and blessed that his passing serves as a reminder to me that my time on this beautiful earth is limited and that I should seize the opportunity I have to forgive, share, explore, and love. I can think of no greater way to honor Phil than to live this way. You will be missed and rest in peace.

Thank you, Phil, for the 74+ years you have been my big brother and shared our lives and those of our families. Your life has impacted many and taught us lessons of love, hope, forgiveness, acceptance, and so much more. Thank you for helping make us who we are today. I love you and already miss you...
