Phyllis was a loving daughter to Lloyd and Evelyn Walker, sister to Lloyd William (Norma Yuonne) Walker, Robert Paul (Betty) Walker, wife of David Lee Haston, mother of: Steven Haston, Jeffery (Amy) Haston, Sandra (Kenny) Boehm, grandmother to: Brittany Haston (Hiram Torres) Richard Ferguson, Jason (Melissa) Haston, Amanda Ferguson (Justin Berkowitz), Kailyn Boehm, Kyle Boehm and great grandmother to : Hiram Torres, Izaiah Torres, Brayden Ferguson, Turner Depalma, Loris Molter, Kaelie Haston, Jevin Haston, Caleb Bowden, Cambren Bowden, Christian Bowden, Emma Berkowitz, Klara-Gail.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Phyllis spent her life caring for her family. This included being a lifelong caregiver to her husband, David, when he became permanently disabled after contracting the meningitis virus when their three children were very young. In addition to being a caregiver and mother, she also worked a full-time job outside the home. After her children were grown, she continued her role as family nurturer by becoming a trusted baby-sitter for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid crocheter and was well known for crocheting afghans, baby blankets, doilies, slippers, table runners or even curtains for anyone who wanted them. She spent her later years making table decoration doilies, greeting guests, serving coffee and chatting with guests on the porch at her son’s bed and breakfast. She was well known for her daily walks around Crescent City and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service and inurnment will follow at a later date at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Myers, Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park. Info (239)334-4880.
