Randal Lewis Mercer of Fort Myers, Florida passed away suddenly early on the morning of Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2026. Randy was born October 26th, 1954 to Janet and Robert Mercer in Sandford, Florida and was raised in Mansfield, Ohio. After running businesses in Ohio, he moved to Fort Myers, Florida to start his real estate career in 1981.
In 1988, he opened his own company, Mercer Investment Properties. Later he was a partner in CRE consultants and recently he returned to his roots with Mercer Investment Properties. His career spanned more than 38 years and his imprint on the Southwest Florida commercial real estate community will not be forgotten. He was loved and respected by many and served as an officer in the Southwest Florida Real Estate Investment Society, the Lee Building Industry Associates and the Executive Regulatory Oversight Committee, among others. He was also the President of the Ritz Carlton Aspen Highlands Board for 16 years.
But Randy's proudest achievement was the family life he built with the true love of his life, Debbie Ringdahl, who he married on July 15, 2000. Their common love for music and their complimentary talents came to fruition when they got involved in Westminster Presbyterian Church and became part of the worship team. One of Randy's nephews said of Randy that he never heard him raise his voice except to sing. Randy truly loved to worship through song.
Randy's involvement in his church included service as a deacon and a deepening faith journey that was evident to all of us. Although it is very sad to lose Randy so soon, it is fitting that God took him home on Easter Sunday, a day that points to eternal life and victory over death.
He and Debbie were travel partners, sharing many ski trips, summer mountain trips, and many beach and overseas adventures. Randy also loved a good meal at one of his favorite restaurants or cooked at home by his favorite chef, his beloved Debbie, who he recently said he would marry 1,000 times over.
In addition to Debbie, Randy is survived by his daughter, Sasha Ringdahl Iversen and son, Noah (Lindsay) Ringdahl; Grandchildren, Emma and Annika Iversen and Maya, Macy and Wyatt Ringdahl; Mother-in-Law, Marilyn Romfo; Sister-in-Law, Darla Romfo; Brother-in-law, Darrin (Becca) Romfo; cousin Kyle (Kristen) Mercer and two nephews Jack and Theo Romfo.
Randy was preceded in death by his Mother, Janet Mercer, his father, Robert Mercer and his father-in-law, Neil Romfo.
Randy-you will be greatly missed.
