

Raymond “Red” Fularczyk was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 27, 1934. He attended Don Bosco High School and the Milwaukee Area Technical College. Red’s interest in the Teamster’s started at the early age of sixteen when he became a member of Local 344 while working for Graf Soda Water. In 1954 he became a member of Local Union 200 working for Tews Lime and Cement Company. His interest became more involved when he became the steward and remained a steward from 1955 through 1967. In January 1968 he joined the staff of Local 200 as a Representative/Organizer. In 1976 he went on to become the President, and remained in that position until 1983 when he became the Secretary Treasurer of Local 200 and Secretary Treasurer of Joint Council #39 where he remained the Principal Officer until 1990. He then joined the staff of the Central Conference when he became the Director of the Food, Dairy and Warehouse Division and Secretary-Treasurer until 1994 when the Conference was abolished. He served as a Representative of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters from 1984 to 1994. He has also served on various committees, including Chairman of the J.A.C. Change of Operations Committee, as well as serving on the National Master Freight Negotiating Committee. Red not only served the Teamsters membership, he was very active in various political committees. He was appointed by Governor Tommy Thompson of Wisconsin to serve on the Jobs Council Committee and also to serve as the Commissioner on the Battleship USS Wisconsin which was put back in service by the United States Navy. He was on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee War Memorial and Performing Arts Center.
Red is survived by his loving wife, Mary; five children: Vickie (Victor Cook) Niederhofer of Belleville, IL, Tom (Barbara) Fularczyk of Lake Holcombe, WI, Dan Fularczyk of Phoenix, AZ, Sally (the late Mark) Flood of Belleville, IL and Lisa (Greg) Birkeland of American Fork, UT; Grandchildren: Aaron (Laura) Niederhofer of Austin, TX, Nick and Annie Fularczyk of LaCrosse, WI, Connor Flood of Belleville, IL and Lauryn, Noah, Luke and Marc Birkeland all of American Fork, UT; Sisters-in-law: Emmy Pinkowski and Joyce Fularczyk; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Nancy Mueller; Son-in-law, Mark Flood; Brothers: Ervin Pinkowski and Eugene Fularczyk; and Sister, Dorothy (John) Zolinski.
