Beautiful Ruth,
I’ve been visiting the many memories you iinspired. I remember when Michael and I crashed your Thanksgiving Dinner.
It was delicious fun! Your hospitality was so gracious.
One of the Best Holidays ever!




My deepest condolences and prayers.  I've only just learned of Ruthie's passing.  We were great friends in junior high and high school.  As our lives moved on we traveled different paths.

I loved seeing the pictures.  How fast time speeds by us, like the soft whispers of breezes.  

We used to have a blast working at Byrd's Bakery.  The police who patrolled that beat used to stop in frequently to chat with us, or just hang out a bit when things were slow for them.  We often gave them the day-old pastries no one bought.  

One time, Ruthie and I had a Wind Song perfume fight with the guys working at the drug store.  I don't remember how it started, but it was fun.  The poor guy who was the druggist got in trouble for it.  The store absolutely stank with the perfume.

I've detested that fragrance ever since.

Dearest Ruth, a year has gone by since word of your passing reached me.  All of the Melrose Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing class of 1973 miss you.  Each time your classmates talk or send emails to each other, you are remembered with the fondest of memories.  Your legacy lives on and will always live on in your family, nursing, and the MWH class of 1973.

I was Amy’s doula during the birth of her son, Peter James. Despite having a heart full of her own emotions, Ruth recognized and thanked me for my efforts when sadness was washing over me. I wish Peter, Amy, Josh and JP strength as you hold onto the love and memories. I know you will carry on Ruth’s passion for caring in your own lives. 

Dear Peter, Amy , JP and family, 
My heart is heavy to hear of Ruth’s passing. I worked for many years in ICU and as nursing supervisor with Ruth. I know all of you so well as she was always bragging about you and your accomplishments. She was SO proud of you all. I Always enjoyed working with Ruth. Always smiling, strong, positive, funny, and met each day with a can do attitude. She was one of the best nurses I have worked with. Our patients were blessed with her by their side. She was so talented and strong. Ruth I know you fought hard. You were an angel here and now an angel in heaven. May your memory be eternal. I for one won’t forget you. Heartfelt prayers to you all. The thought of you throughout the years always brought a smile to my face, Citroni! Memories of the friendships sealed for a lifetime, the fun, laughter/ tears, support for one another all began when we started our journey into MWH Class of '73.
Rest easy my friend. Your lifetime of serving others, caring for your patients, families has reached the final chapter. Your dedication to our nursing profession has been branded by your touch.

Forgive me as I am still in shock.
Ruth was my Cousin's wife.Over the years we got to spend a lot of time with the Richardsons.They came to DC for Graduations,Weddings and many other special occasions.We cherish those times.
Ruth was a wonderful friend to my Wife 
Vicky.She doted on our two sons.Felt comfortable suggesting to  Michael that he should get a haircut.Came down to see a play that Peter and his wife worked on.
Ruth and Peter’s hospitality was so gracious.
In Keene and in Maine we were always welcome.Amy and JP grew up to be loving and strong.Like Ruth,a little stubborn..
Ruth loved Sports partially at least because she loved Peter.They called us after the Patriot’s first victory in a Super Bowl .
They were over the Moon.Ruth was a Super Fan of the Teams she loved.Who else could 
have been more perfect,in so many ways,for Peter?
Peter and Ruth were such amazing parents that Vicky and I asked them to be our son’s Guardians if something should happen to us.
They took about 2 seconds to say “Yes!”
Typical of Ruth’s generosity and courage.
I don’t know how we can function without 
Ruth in our lives.But she would want us to 
thrive.

Ruth was a treasured classmate at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing.  She was always sensitive to others feelings and willing to join in any fun prank. My sincere condolences to you all.  Ruth will always be in my thoughts and prayers. 

so very sorry. Keene has lost the best nurse in the world,we lost a best friend and you lost the best mom and wife in the world. she loved her family and we all were her family. god only takes the best.

My deepest sympathies to Peter, Amy and JP. Ruth was a kind woman, great neighbor and a loving Mom. She always had encouraging words for me. Rest in peace sweet lady. You will be missed.
