

Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Upper Darby, Pa before moving to Toms River, New Jersey in 1954. She moved to Vero Beach, Florida in 1986.
She graduated with top honors from the school of Pharmacy, Temple University, Philadelphia, Pa., in 1948 where she received The TEMPLE UNIVERSITY GENERAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CERTIFICATE for the highest general average in all subjects during the four years, along with numerous other awards.
She retired in 1986 as the Director of Pharmacy for the Northern Ocean Hospital System, Inc. (NOHS), which operated Brick and Point Pleasant Hospitals, in New Jersey for 15 years. Alice was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toms River, NJ.
Survivors include; a son Joseph A. Jr. of Little Egg Harbor, N. J.; three daughters, Susan Breeding, of Seaford, Del., Carol Ewald, of Seattle Wash., and Nancy Blazewicz of Melbourne, FL and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Joseph A. Papola who died in 1987.
A mass will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, FL, at 12:00pm. A celebration of Alice’s life is planned for a later date in New Jersey.
