

Annette Rose Galante Dorozynski of North Hutchinson Island, Fl passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025. Born and raised in the lower east side of Manhattan, NY, she was 88. After marrying in 1959, her husband John and she were the first to buy land and start building in a new community called Sterling Forest in Tuxedo Park, NY. Annette raised her family and resided in Tuxedo Park, NY, for over 50 years leading to becoming a notable part of the town’s history. Annette was a graduate of Harriman College and Ramapo College with multiple degrees in Business and Government Affairs. Annette worked for Catholic Charities CYO Division in the 1960’s before heading to LaMorte & Burns at the World Trade Center managing the marine insurance division for the shipping industry across the world. After retiring early, she utilized her education and love for politics to become the first female Town Supervisor of Tuxedo. Additionally, her love for civic duties was further expressed as a Police Commissioner for Town of Tuxedo, Charter Member & Past-President of the Sterling Forest Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, member of The Rogers-Cabrini Lodge of the Sons of Italy, served as President of the Orange County Chamber for Congress, as a past officer of Women’s Propeller Club SUNY Maritime, as well as serving on other various boards of nonprofits throughout her life. Annette enjoyed traveling with her husband around the world to mysterious lands and collecting treasures from diverse cultures. She is preceded in death by her husband John of 60 years, son Derek, parents Nick & Matilda Galante, and sister Gloria Novack. Annette is survived by her loving son John Dorozynski, Jr and wife Tammy, granddaughters Isabella Rose and Annalee Mary, and her sister Joanne Galante-Cicale. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held in the near future in her beloved Town of Tuxedo, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to these nonprofits she had a deep commitment to honor her legacy: The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum, North Hutchinson Island, Florida; Tuxedo Historical Society, Tuxedo, NY; Sterling Forest Volunteer Fire Department or Ladies Auxiliary, Tuxedo, NY; or the HH Rogers-Cabrini Lodge of the Sons of Italy, Tuxedo NY.
