Born in Owen County, Indiana, to Fred and Mary Allen, Carolyn grew up with a deep appreciation for family, history, and the simple joys of life. She nurtured a lifelong love of reading and found great happiness in traveling and exploring the world. Her passion for genealogy was one of her defining pursuits; she devoted countless hours to preserving family stories and connecting past generations with the present.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Johnson, and her brother, John Allen.
She is survived by her children: Nicholas Awbrey, Jonathan Rupprath, Zachary Rupprath, and Alex Rupprath; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her beloved nephews, all of whom will continue to carry her memory forward.
Carolyn will be remembered for her curiosity, her wild spirit, and the love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the stories she preserved, the places she touched, and the many lives she enriched simply by being herself.
At this time, no services are planned.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Freedom to Read Foundation in her honor.
