Born in Ashtabula, OH he has been a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for the past 9 years, formerly of Honolulu, HI.
Prior to retirement, Dean was a pilot with TWA for 35 years. During World War Two, he served as captain in the Army Air Corps, and he was a member of the Flying Tigers. He also flew, “The Hump” in the China, Burma, India, theater.
Survivors include, sons, Nick (Patricia) Carter, of Santa Barbara, CA ,Jon (Mary Lynn) Carter, of Fort Pierce, FL and Christopher Carter, of Tampa, FL 4 grandchildren, Angela, Shana, Cris and Britton, 2 great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Charlotte. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Kathryn Carter.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce, FL at 1:00pm, with inurnment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, FL.
