Born in England, she has been a resident of Vero Beach, FL for the past 10 years, formerly of Whiting, NJ.
During World War II, Millie returned to England to help in the war effort as a cook and batter.
Prior to retirement, Millie was a nanny for many years in England and New York. She crocheted afghans for Boggy Creek Gang and enjoyed Bingo and Bunco. Mille was a member of Living Lord Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, FL.
Survivors include, niece and nephew, Marion and Pete Crane, of Fort Pierce, FL, brother, George Wood, of Dunnington, York, England and sister, Nora Martin of, Fareham, Hampshire, England. She was predeceased by her husband, Nels Nelson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Living Lord Lutheran Church at 1105 58th Ave. Vero Beach, FL 32966.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Living Lord Lutheran Church, Vero Beach, FL at 2:00pm.
