I met Rivas while working in Juvenile Detention Center in Miami.  We became good friends and would laugh about life. I always admired, respected and looked up to such a special person.  He was a Veteran and risked his life for all of us.  He loved life, his wife and family.  I called him "lovely" because he was a lovely person.  Thank you for all your teachings and knowledge; such  a wise man .  I  did not know you had passed away until I did not receive a posting from you in Facebook.  I was blessed to have had you in my life. You are a beautiful soul and will always be in my heart. Until we meet again my friend.  Now you will be forever happy with your beautiful wife, son and God.  


It is with my deepest heart what Rivas meant to me.  I say Rivas because we worked together many years and every one was called by their last name. I have loved Rivas since I met him - He taught me to have respect for my self and that everything was possible as long as you believed in God - he was my mentor and my friend - not once did I ever see him without a smile - I will always have his memory in my heart and thank him for making me a better person - luv u always lovely soul



We share the grief for the loss of our loved one, Harry. We cherish the moments we spent with him for all times, but especially in recent years.  May his soul rest in eternal peace and may he lie in the sweet repose that our heavenly Father promises to all who believe. "Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal."  

Sincere condolences to the entire family,  I was a child when I first knew Mr. Rivas living in Porter Place.

Harry, you were a great neighbor and a friend.  We always enjoyed time spent with you.  We wish you eternal rest with Marie.  Our prayers are with your family for peace and comfort. God Bless you.
