

He was born December 1, 1923 in Islip, NY to Henry and Cecelia Bollinger. Hank served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II aboard the destroyer escort USS Harveston. During that time he met and married the love of his life, Barbara (Bobbi) Hardy who pre-deceased him in February of this year after more than 70 years of marriage. Hank worked for over 35 years in the transportation system of the State of New York on Long Island NY, before retirement. They enjoyed spending there summers on Long Island’s Great South Bay at their beach homes on Sexton Island first, and then years later, on Captree Island. He and Bobbi moved to the Vero Beach/Sebastian area 22 years ago to retire in the beautiful Florida sunshine. They enjoyed memberships in several organizations, including the Barefoot Bay Honor NY Club, the VFW, the German Heritage Club, and the Barefoot Bay Square Dance Club, and were able to travel extensively during their last two decades together. Though the affiliations with these clubs, they made many wonderful friendships that they both cherished to the very end.
Hank leaves behind three children, his sons, Henry Martin Bollinger III (Carla), William Hardy Bollinger (Michelle) and daughter, Patricia Bollinger Squire (Ronald) along with eight grandchildren; Michele, Brian, Tracey, Gregg, Mark, Kristin, Lisa & Jeanette and ten great-grand grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 US Hwy 1, Fort Pierce, FL on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. With a service from 6:00 – 6:30, with reception to follow.
