After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson College, Jackie embarked on a successful career in clothing retail. Her expertise in buying, merchandising, and management took her to prestigious department stores such as Sterns, Gimbels and Burdines. This included semi-annual buying trips to Europe, fueling her interests for fashion and travel.
Jackie, and her husband Jack (predeceased), relocated to Fort Pierce, FL, where they owned and operated the Beachwood Motel on South Beach in Fort Pierce. After a few years, she continued to pursue her love for the retail world. Jackie opened her own women’s clothing store in Fort Pierce (Concepts) in the mid 1980’s, and later worked at several local clothing and department stores, sharing her eye for fashion with the community.
Beyond her professional life, Jackie enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She was an avid needlepointer, reader, and crossword puzzle enthusiast. She dedicated her time to volunteering at St. Andrews Episcopal School in Fort Pierce where her daughter Jacy attended elementary school.
Jackie is preceded in death by her husband Jack, and her sister Judy Crane. Jackie is survived by her loving daughter, Jacy, son-in-law Jay, and her cherished granddaughter, Jaya, all of Vero Beach.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to VNA Hospice of Indian River County (https://foundation.vnatc.com/donate-now/) in Jackie’s memory.
