Born in Pittsburgh, PA he has been a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for the past 32 years.
John was a United States Army veteran and United States Coast Guard, serving in World War II.
Prior to retirement, John was with the public defender’s office 19th District, and formerly he was a homicide investigator for the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s office and a 23 year officer of the Pittsburgh, PA Police Dept. He was a member of the FOP Lodge 1, Masonic Lodge in Fort Pierce, FL and he was an avid fisherman and golfer.
Survivors include, wife of 40 years, Barbara Miller, of Fort Pierce, FL and sons, , Mart Miller, of New Stanton, PA , Tomas Miller, of Vermillion, SD, John Miller, III, of Pittsburg, PA, Greg Miller, of Pittsburgh, PA and James Miller, sister, Margaret Mannsmann, of Rangeley, ME, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the James E. Simpson Memorial School, 3201 Memory Lane, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
