

resident of Ft. Pierce, FL, Buster was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Arlene (Radigan)
Lachance and his wife of 2 years Dawn (Hannah) Lachance. He is survived by his five children:
Kerry Lachance of Columbia, SC; Gary Lachance and his wife, Karen, of Moosup, CT; Brian
Lachance of Washington, DC; Paula Washington and her husband, Edward, of Garland, TX;
and Carla Griffin and her husband, Ron, of Lexington, SC. He is also survived by three
grandchildren, Benjamin Lachance of CT and Damian Lachance of RI, and Talia Powell of TX;
four great-grandchildren, Kaley Lachance, Benjamin Lachance, Jr., Laila Powell, and Olivia
Powell; one great-great grandchild, Otis Lachance; two sisters (Theresa Mattson and Madeleine
Phaneuf); and two brothers (Gerard Lachance and Jean-Paul Lachance). He also leaves many
dear friends from Spanish Lakes Fairways, his home since retiring in 1988.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, on December 14, 1929, he was a member of the Roman Catholic
Church and his faith sustained him throughout his lifetime. Buster proudly served in the Army
during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer who had the distinction of being able to shoot
below his age and collected multiple hole-in-one trophies. He was a passionate, life-long sports
fan. He never met a stranger and had so many interesting memories and stories to share.
Buster was blessed and happily shared his blessings with charitable organizations serving those
in need. He loved singing out loud for no reason at all, and most importantly, spending time with
beloved family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 1:30 PM at The Crossing
Community Church, 8103 Indrio Rd, Fort Pierce, FL, followed by interment at Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens, 6026 US-1, Fort Pierce, FL, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
