Margie spent her childhood in Gilmanton, where she attended a three-room schoolhouse through the eighth grade. From an early age, Margie carried with her both a love of community and a natural curiosity that shaped all aspects of her life.
She began her career as a laboratory technician at Laconia Hospital and later joined IBM, where her intelligence and creativity were recognized with several suggestion awards. Margie also led with her heart. She was a dedicated foster parent, proud mother, Den Mother, served on the Richmond Rescue Squad, and served as President of the PTA as well as President of the Women’s Group. Margie expressed her joy for life through song and dance, performing as a teenager with the “Keytones” square dance group and later lending her beautiful voice to the local chorus in Richmond, Vermont, and in many churches and nursing homes. She supported Roger in ministry work since 1982.
Her hobbies reflected her boundless creativity. She found delight in scrapbooking, quilting, photography, and writing poetry, leaving behind a legacy of handmade treasures and memories. A lifelong learner and quick thinker, Margie was known for her sharp mind and knack for winning games. She was also deeply proud of her heritage, serving as Circulation Director for the Clan MacNaughton and remaining a lifetime member of the clan. She enjoyed traveling with Roger.
Among all her accomplishments, Margie was proudest of her role as a mother. Her love, warmth, and wisdom touched not only her family, but all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be remembered for her wit and incredible kindness she brought into the lives of others.
Margie is survived by her husband, Roger, her four children Kevin Couture (Val), Robert Couture (Deb), Karen Norman (Bernard), and Justin Couture (Sara); sister Jane Gove (Charlie), many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

As Margie would say to Roger, I imagine her saying to you all now: "Mind how you go".
