

Willard “Bill” Gralia, Sr. passed away in his wife’s loving arms while holding his beloved dog, Genesis. He was born October 18, 1936 in Springfield, MA, son of the late Ernest and Fannie (Barr) Gralia. He graduated Class of 1956 from Tech High in Springfield, MA and joined into his family’s business, Gralia Brothers Lumber Yard. From age 16 he began home building and from there went to Springfield, MA Carpenters Union where he worked on Bay Path College as well as several other community buildings. At age 22 Bill started his own business, W.L. Gralia and Slumber Homes Developing building residential communities. He was elected President of the Springfield Builders Association in 1961. In 1969 Bill joined his brother in the E.A. Gralia Construction Co. in East Longmeadow, MA until the early 1980’s then proceeded with C.R. Klewin in CT. before he semi-retired as superintendent of Commercial Construction. In 1992 Bill and his wife, Carole moved to a home they had built on Long Lake, Me. Where he ran his own Light Construction and Home Watch business. Bill was Past President of the Harrison, ME Lions Club, served on the Harrison Town Board and President of the Pine Point Homeowners Association. In 2000 Bill and Carole sold their home in Maine and moved to Key Largo, Florida Keys where he became the President of the Silver Shores Homeowners Association. 2002 the moved to “higher ground” to Port St. Lucie. Willard is survived by his loving wife Carole, daughter Donna, sons David and Willard L. Jr., stepson Todd and a brother Ernest (wife Rose).
A visitation and celebration of Life will be held Thursday January 9, 2025 1-2PM at Aycock Funeral Home 6026 North US Highway 1, Ft. Pierce with services following at 2PM. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
