

The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew’s United Church, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK., on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. With Rev. Sharron Bodnaryk officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery.
Predeceased by three sons: Melvin, Kim and Gerald Mooney, four brothers: Floyd, Arthur, Walter and Jim Mooney and two sisters: Annie Thibault and Ruth Dickson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dorothy (Pearl), his son, Mervin Mooney, his grandchildren Tammy Mooney (Danny), Kelly Mooney (Jody), Shea Mooney, Kim Mooney, Sandra Mooney (Bruce), his great grandchildren Taya Mooney, Eric Mooney and Jade Glen, his daughter in law Bev Mooney, his sister, Theresa Mooney and his nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born in Star City, SK and grew up in Ogema, SK on a farm where he lived for 28 years. He met his wife and best friend Dorothy Pearl Dexter on a blind date arranged by one of his cousins. They were married for 68 years. He retired from the Government of Saskatchewan at the Valleyview Centre in Moose Jaw, SK, after 38 years of service as a Journeyman Plumber. He won the "Best Yard" award in Moose Jaw several times. He was an avid volunteer including the Army and Navy Vets.
A very wise man who could always talk politics, give sound financial advice, history lessons, tell you what the future was likely to bring as he followed the news very closely, and always kept in touch with and offered support to his family and friends. He had a great sense of humour with a stong deep laugh one could never forget. He loved playing cards and bingo.
