Audrey is survived by daughter Roberta, son Calvin (Cheryl), grandchildren Sara (Stewart), Kristen (Derek), Kenton (Chasity), treasured great-grandchildren Ellie and Cooper Carson, sister Olive Stewart, and brothers John, David, and Ernest Krochak.
In October of 1934, Audrey was born to her much loved parents Bill and Ann Krochak on the family farm north of Pelly. There she developed her love of nature and family time, helping her mother and father tend home, garden, and animals. After leaving home to work at Fort San, she met and married her great love Gerald Solvey. Together they spent many happy years making a lovely home to raise two children, and when they grew up, life revolved around her three precious grandchildren.
From a much loved and respected mother-in-law Isabel, Audrey also took over the job of accountant for the family business Solvey Motors. She never retired. Audrey was meticulously creative, be it painting a landscape of the valley, patiently stitching a petit point, making a ceramic nativity scene, or sewing a child’s costume. She was best known for the fabulous meals she served her family. She loved annual golfing holidays with Gerald, curling, travelling the world, gardening, and watching the Riders. But most of all, she was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
We are all so thankful that the last four years of her life were made extra special by the time she was able to spend with that other great love of her life, her first great-grandchild, Ellie. At Audrey’s request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
