

Elizabeth Mary Nameth (nee Santo), formerly of Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025 at the age of 101 years, with a daughter by her side in Fillmore Health Centre, where she received excellent, compassionate care since October 25, 2022.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Wendel (1986); sisters: Julia Sakal (2001), Ann Nameth (2009) and Irene Nameth (2023); brothers Steve Santo (2009) and George Santo (2015); her parents Victor and Theresa Santo; a sister and a brother in infancy.
Mom will lovingly be remembered by her eight children and seven grandchildren: Betty (Barry) Halbgewachs of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK and their children Tammy (Bond) Ferguson of Regina Beach, SK and Curtis of Pasqua Lake, SK; Jenny (Richard) Roman of Regina, SK and their daughter Candice (Doug) Pollock of Pilot Butte, SK; Sonny (Kathy) of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK and his children Alicia (Ken) Willoughby and Quinton Nameth of Medicine Hat, AB; Robby of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK; Darlene of Regina Beach, SK; Bernice (Rick) of Regina, SK and their daughter Nicole of Regina, SK; Wendy (Tony) and their son Jorel of Regina, SK; Laura of Regina, SK; great-grandchildren: Beckett, Saul, Rowyn, Ruby, Travis, Bradie, Zaynna, Shyah, Zachary, Karly, Kelsey and Keely; brothers Joe Santo of Cupar, SK and Victor (Patsy) Santo of Dysart, SK and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Mom was a devoted wife and mother and a kind and thoughtful friend and neighbour. She had a fondness for socializing, dancing, playing cards and enjoyed the friendships and activities at the Senior Centre. In her later years, cribbage tournaments became a favorite pastime.
The family is thankful and appreciative to the caring, reliable caregivers: Velma, Cecilia, Barb and most recently Thea, who lived with Mom in her home for five years prior to Fillmore Health Centre.
Mom will be sadly missed by her family and friends who will best remember her for her warm heart and her kind and gentle nature.
A private family interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK at a later date.
