Irene Fritz

Irene Lucille Fritz, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 15, 2025. Born on January 7, 1931, in the district of Wolseley, Saskatchewan, Irene lived a full and vibrant life from beginning to end and touched the lives of many people along the way.

Irene grew up in Wolseley and after completing high school moved to Regina and entered the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital nursing program and graduated, working at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina. Irene met John Fritz during her training and they were married in 1953. Irene devoted herself to family raising two sons, Douglas John, and James Robert. Subsequently, she worked as a nurse in the emergency department at the Grey Nuns Hospital and as the nurse at Sears.

Irene enjoyed dancing and social activities and loved to play golf and bridge among her many other interests. Always she was devoted to family and was a mentor to all in so many ways.

Irene was predeceased by her husband John in 2013 and is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Deborah; son James; her grandsons Jan and Dieter and her great grandchildren: Blake, Cole, Andrew, Abigail and Jack.

The family is holding a celebration of life for Irene to be attended by family and close friends on July 27, 2025 at 12:30 pm at 257 B-Say-Tah, Saskatchewan. Please no gifts or donations, dress casual.
