John is survived by his mother Emily of Regina; sisters Joanne and Marlene of Regina; brothers Dave (Karey) of Balgonie and Martin of Edmonton and their children along with brother Dale’s children.
John is also survived by his wife Joanne of almost 32 years; step-daughter Marie (Damon) of Saskatoon; grandchildren: Sami, Lucy and Jaden, who all held a special place in Papa's heart; brother-in-law Wayne (Anita) of Edmonton; sisters-in-law: Debbie of Lebret, Cathy (Bill) of Borden and Rita of Edmonton and their children along with Kim and George's children.
John loved being on Bill and Cathy's farm with all of the extended family over the years! There are also several special family and friends in our lives too numerous to mention, but you know who you are!
John was predeceased by his father Tony Sr.; brothers Tony Jr. and Dale, along with his grandparents and many relatives on his and Joanne's side.
John suffered excruciating headaches for 45 years after his accident in 1980 and it took a huge toll on his health. He hated hospitals and got his heart’s desire to remain at home with his Jo by his side.
Our happy place was Room #4 and the deck at Salty Surf Inn at Manitou Beach with Lynne and her boys, Sean and many special friends over 31 years.
A heartfelt thanks to the E.M.T. attendants, R.C.M.P. members, the coroner and Tubman Funeral Home for your compassionate care of John.
John’s wishes were for no formal service will be honoured. A private family and friend gathering will take place in the near future.
