

Ron was born on the family farm north of Qu’Appelle, SK to Arthur and Zenaide (LeGrand) Harvey. He was the second youngest of nine children. Ron grew up on the family farm and started farming in the early 1950’s. He married Donna Potter in 1956 and continued to farm in the Qu’Appelle and Indian Head area for the next fifty years. Ron was a hard worker and a proud farmer.
He liked fishing, hunting, curling, snowmobiling and doing anything outdoors. He enjoyed watching sports and loved cheering for the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
After retiring from the farm in 2000, Ron and Donna built a house on Echo Lake near Fort Qu’Appelle and continued to travel and spend time with family. In 2014, they sold their place at the lake and moved to Regina.
Ron is survived by his wife Donna; daughter Carla (Dave) Edwards; son Maury Harvey; granddaughter Brittany Edwards; grandson Tanner (Kristen) Edwards; great-grandchildren Cash and Hazel Edwards; brother Jim (Frances) Harvey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Zenaide; brothers: Art, Will and Eddie and sisters: Edith, Blanche, Yvonne and Helen.
The funeral mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows R.C., Fort Qu’Appelle, SK on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Joy Montiague. The pallbearers were Glenn Kirsch, Elmer Grainger, Dave Stephen, Martin Harvey, Tanner Edwards and Dave Edwards. The interment was held in the Lakeview Cemetery.
