S. Aaron Simes

July 7, 1976 – June 1, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of S. Aaron Simes. He passed away suddenly in the early evening of Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the age of 36. Aaron was predeceased by his grandparents Harry and Annie Jackson, Delbert Simes, George Robertson, uncle Keith Jackson and man`s best friend Bailey, the very spoiled mastiff. He is survived by his loving wife Jodie and his sons Austin, Alex and Ronan, his parents Graham and Beverly Simes, grandmother Agnes Robertson, sister Arla, nephew Nathan, his out-laws Melony and Lawrence Materi, Dale and Wendy Nelson, sister-in-law Lindsey (Rodney) Ulvild, step siblings Pam (Lee) Aument, Kelly (Tammy) Materi, Rena Materi, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Aaron was a character. All who knew him would definitely say he was one of a kind. He enjoyed restoring everything from cars to pool tables, curling, golfing, fishing, hockey, flying model airplanes and model rockets, biking of both kinds (especially the Harley Davidson kind), and camping. The ladies at the church will be missing their favorite dishwasher. Aaron was an ardent sports fan and he loved his Riders and LA Kings. He loved all of those things…but the thing that he loved the most in life was being a husband and team-player to his wife Jodie and the best dad he could possibly be to his three sons. He will be sadly missed. A funeral service will be held in the Fort Qu’Appelle Rex Center, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Warren Huestis and Rev. Duncan and Rev. Beverley McLean officiating. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Anyone who knows Aaron, knows that he was not a suit and tie kinda guy. We are asking that if you so desire, come dressed to the funeral in your favorite sports team attire. Nothing would please Aaron more than to see a sea of green, purple and gold. (But he would also get a kick out of someone showing up in a Blackhawks jersey).
