Wayne Albert McRorie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Albert McRorie of Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. Wayne passed away peacefully with his family by his side, in Echo Lodge on December 19, 2022 at the age of 83 years.

He was predeceased by his parents Austin Clifford and Vera McRorie and brother-in-law Robert Power.

Wayne will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 62 years Audrey McRorie; sister Dawn Power; his two children Pat Parachoniak and Jenny McRorie and granddaughter Alexis Parachoniak (Indy), along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

Wayne was born in Saskatoon, SK. on April 12, 1939. Wayne was a classic car enthusiast and was one of the founding members of the Draggins Car Club in Saskatoon. It was there that he met his future wife Audrey at the age of 17. Two years later they were married. He also loved curling and curled until he was no longer able. Wayne worked a number of years for CN Rail and then devoted the rest of his career as Traffic Manager for IPSCO in Regina.

Wayne spent his leisure time at the cottage on Pasqua Lake and loved it so much that he later built their retirement home on that property. He spent his summers on his boat and his winters on his snow machine. When the lake home became too much work they moved to Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. He later bought an RV and relished the time he spent camping with Audrey and his granddaughter. Wayne would do absolutely anything to help his family, his friends, his neighbours or complete strangers, and anyone who knew him would attest to that. He would drop what he was doing and help someone if they needed help. He was the kindest man with the biggest heart and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We would like to thank the staff at Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle for the loving care they provided our Dad.

At Wayne’s request there was no funeral service.
