Bill was a farmer all his life. He loved nature, caring for the land and the livestock that he raised. He followed in his father’s footsteps by raising and promoting the Registered Black Aberdeen Angus livestock. He was a believer in supporting the community and volunteered his time on many boards as chairperson as well as many sub committees in the Edgeley district and beyond.
He was born north of Indian Head and in 1942 the family moved to the Edgeley district where he farmed and raised his family until retiring to Fort Qu’Appelle.
Bill loved to go to dances, curling, bowling and playing cards. He enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to visit many places across Canada, USA, Mexico and England. Another enjoyable event was the “Anniversary Group”. They celebrated each couple’s anniversary by visiting their home and celebrating late into the night. In later years Bill worked on building wooden tables and toys that he would take to craft sales, where he enjoyed visiting with new acquaintances. He loved his family and supported them all through his life. He truly lived life to the fullest possible and will be extremely missed by his family, but has left us with a love of nature, community and life.
A graveside service will be held in the Edgeley Cemetery, Edgeley, Saskatchewan on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Jo Mader, followed by a Tea and visiting in the Edgeley Community Centre.
Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Fort Qu’Appelle Museum/McDonald House c/o Town of Fort Qu’Appelle, Box 309, Fort Qu’Appelle, SK S0G 1S0 or etransfer to [email protected].
