She was predeceased by her parents, Malcolm and Zelma Alton; her husband, Edwin Carlson; and her son, David Malcolm Stevenson.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kathleen Stevenson, Lorraine Stevenson, Heather Hackman, and Glen Stevenson, along with their families. Barbara also shared a special closeness with the Jon Hansen and Edwin Carlson families, her many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends in both British Columbia and Alberta.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services – Riverview Chapel, 11090 86 Ave, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. In honour of Barbara’s love of flowers and gardening, guests are invited to wear bright, casual clothing. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to support their favourite animal shelter.
