Carolin Marie Barnes

A beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away peacefully on February 7th, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Carolin was the devoted wife of Richard Kent Barnes for 39 years, and a loving mother to Steven Barnes (Sherri), Owen Barnes, Adam Barnes (Nancy), and Jeremy Barnes (Madison).

Carolin was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Henry Leeb, and her baby sister Shawn. She is survived by her mother, Helen Lillian Leeb-Kreiser (Ken); her dear sisters, Pamela Frederick (Dan) and Carmen Leeb (Kelly); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolin’s greatest joy in life was her family. Carolin was a proud grandmother to Brooke, Brody, Adelaide, Gunner, Patrick, Joel, Aubrie, Cooper, Blake, Hunter, and Henry. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Carolin will be remembered for her generous spirit, her deep love for her family, and the countless memories she created with those she cherished most.

A Catholic service will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church (10004 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan) on February 14th, 2025 at 12:30pm, with a public visitation prior at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the heart and stroke foundation in her honour.

Carolin’s love and legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
