Darrell John Jesson

Darrell will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosemary (Rose); his children, Matthew, Travis (Stephanie), and Melissa (Rory); his stepchildren, Jarrett and Joshua; his seven cherished grandchildren; and his brother, Kevin (Terri-Ann). He will also be missed by numerous relatives, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Darrell is predeceased by his parents, John and Sina Jesson; his sister, Lorelei; and his niece, Michelle.

Born on August 16, 1961, his early life was built in Squamish, British Columbia until the family settled in Bruderheim, Alberta. Darrell built a proud career as a pipefitter and was a dedicated member of Local Union 488 and retired in 2017. Darrell and Rose spent the past ten years creating a peaceful and joyful life together. They were looking forward to continuing to build their future – a simple, contented retirement filled with hours spent tending to their yard, kayaking, enjoying the outdoors and welcoming family and friends into their home alongside their beloved dog Jax and their new puppy Jay Jay.

Throughout his life, Darrell found joy in his family, the open road, riding his motorcycle alongside his Brothers and Sisters. Darrell had a deep appreciation for history and airplanes and a passion for computers and flight simulations — hobbies that brought him endless fascination and comfort in recent years.

Darrell was known for his steady presence, his loyalty, and the quiet strength he carried into every part of his life.

A service will be held on August 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Memorial- Riverview Chapel, 11090 86 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, a Final Ride with his Brothers and Sisters followed by a celebration of life at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hall (Normandy) at 9964 93 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Darrell’s final resting place will be at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery, beside his parents, John and Sina at a future date.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the University of Alberta Hospital, the First Responders and those first on scene, and STARS for their care and compassion.
