It is with great sadness that we announce that Dianne (Dee) Gail Evoy (Bowles), age 74 years, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Dee faced a brief battle with cancer with her characteristic grace, quiet strength, and unwavering faith.
Dee was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on December 18, 1950, to Alec and Margaret Bowles. She grew up in the close-knit Delton/Killarney neighborhood, where she and her four siblings—Elaine, Alorie, Wayne, and Bonnie—shared a lively childhood filled with laughter, adventure, and the values of family and community. Dee was active in her church, participated enthusiastically in the Baptist Young People’s group, and enjoyed cheerleading and a variety of sports.
After attending Victoria Composite High School, Dee graduated from the beauty culture program in 1970. Her dedication to her craft and her caring nature led her to a fulfilling 37-year career as a hairstylist. In 1986, she realized her dream of opening her own salon, Hairworks by Dianne, in Redwater, Alberta, where she built lasting friendships with clients and colleagues alike.
In 1967, Dee met the love of her life, Glen Evoy, at a Baptist Young People’s event. Their connection was instant, blossoming into a partnership built on mutual respect, love, and laughter. They married in the summer of 1970 and celebrated 55 wonderful years together. Together, they raised three children—Shannon, Shawn, and Sheryl—instilling in them the same values of kindness, resilience, and generosity that Dee embodied.
Dee was a woman of many talents and interests. She lived life to the fullest, embracing hobbies such as racquetball, tennis, curling, quilting, sewing, and creating beautiful stained-glass steppingstones. She loved gardening, swimming, RVing, golfing, baking, playing cards, watching hockey and football, bird watching, and enjoying wine and cheese at happy hour. Dee and Glen cherished their winters spent with friends in Mesa, Arizona, where they built a community of lasting friendships.
Dee will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, patience, creativity, and steadfast friendship. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel special and was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Glen; her children, Shannon Evoy, Shawn (Kerke) Evoy, and Sheryl (Ryan) Willcott; her grandchildren, Abby (Connor) Evoy-Gingras, Evan Macri, Kallen Evoy, Ella Macri, Kessler Evoy, and Kinnley Evoy; her siblings, Elaine (Orest) Stefance, Alorie Williams, Wayne (Kim) Bowles, and Bonnie Pasnak; her sister-in-law, Ann (Dave) Comfort, and brother-in-law, Dave (Karen) Evoy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Predeceased by her parents Alec and Margret Bowles, brothers-in-law Edmund Williams and Gerald Pasnak.
A celebration of Dee’s life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services in Fort Saskatchewan on May 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for Dee’s remarkable life.
Dee’s legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital Foundation, in recognition of the compassionate care Dee received from all the staff or The Salvation Army.
