Born on July 2, 1933, in Star City, Saskatchewan, Eleanor lived a life marked by grace, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her warmth, wisdom, and quiet strength touched the lives of all who knew her.
Eleanor will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her presence brought comfort, and her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share in her journey.
She was an extremely hard worker. Growing up on the family farm just outside of Star City Saskatchewan, she had to be. Eleanor worked many jobs through the years, from a farm girl to a heavy equipment operator (picture to prove it!), from a nurse’s aid to a custodian and a school bus driver-at the same time! Many of the children she escorted to school over the years knew her as the kind but firm ‘Mrs. Zuk’.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Ronald Michael Zuk, whose memory she carried with her always. Eleanor also was predeceased by her older sister Marjorie Elder, and her younger brother Arthur Murphy. She also missed her siblings dearly.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Rohatynchuk and Tracey Zuk; and her son, Richard Zuk (Crystal). She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Adam Wasylenchuk (Theresa), Alysha Wasylenchuk (Ricky Hiebert), Madicyn Faiaipau (Darcy), Kaitlyn Rohatynchuk, and Ryan Rohatynchuk. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Nickolas Hiebert, and Darcy and Frankey Faiaipau.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 9965-93 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, on September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Canada, in tribute to Eleanor’s generous heart and lifelong faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was a longtime baptized member of the organization.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
