Helen Sharon Chmiel

Mom loved hard and cared deeply for the people in her life. Many know her simply as “Mom” or “Baba”.

Her most precious loves are her grandchildren, Riley, Alex, Malia, Abriella, and Shyla. She was so proud of them all and loved watching them grow. She treasured every minute she spent with them.

She is survived by her children, Stacey(Cory), Jessica(Kevin) and Michael(Shannon); her sisters, Marti(Murray,) and Jeannie are also sharing in our sorrow.

Mom was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Chmiel; sister, Anne Chmiel; and brother, David Chmiel.

Mom was born in Edmonton and spent most of her years in surrounding communities.

She had a creativity about her that enabled her to produce delicious meals throughout the years. She fed literally thousands of people…all without a recipe. She made handmade beautiful home decor and gifts with just a vision and a few materials. Mom was able to plan beautiful events from next to nothing. She was also gifted with music. She could harmonize to any song and even played the guitar and accordion. Her talents and abilities were many! Gifts she passed to all three of her children. She truly was a “Pinterest creator” before the internet existed if you will…

She has struggled with her health the past 20 plus years. Mom pushed through and fought hard for most of it. We know she is at peace and no longer feels pain.

We will forever love and miss you Mom.

We will honour her with family, friends, fellowship and of course food on Saturday, August 22nd at 1pm at the Egremont Community Hall 4904-50St, Egremont Alberta.
