Kenneth was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba to Lorriane Ernest. During his early years he enjoyed Hockey and being a member of the Army Cadets. In his late teen years, he moved to Brandon, Manitoba and then to Winnipeg where he met Marianne Schellenberg in 1970. Kenneth and Marianne married on November 4, 1972.
Kenneth worked hard to support his wife and son and had a long career as an assembler at Versatile Manufacturing. Prior to his retirement he worked at Kitchen Craft Canada.
Kenneth enjoyed fishing and camping as well as planning holidays that included visiting the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, Arizona, Texas and especially Hawaii. He also loved spending time in the Rocky Mountains at his timeshare in Canmore, Alberta.
Kenneth had a deep faith and love for Jesus. He became a Christian at Beaver Lake Bible camp as a child. He volunteered in the Church helping with the Christian Boys Brigade, Awana, hosting International Students and leading men's ministries for many years. He was passionate about men having a close relationship with Jesus, so he volunteered and promoted Promise Keepers (now Impactus Canada) for many years.
In his elder years, Kenneth's greatest passion was his grandchildren. He made sure he attended every school play, musical theater show, band concert and graduation he could. He always was willing to give a listening ear and freely offer the wisdom he had gained over his lifetime. His grandchildren especially loved his mischievous sense of humor, his eagerness to spend time with them, and the many fond memories playing cards and visiting around the table at family gatherings.
