Lois is survived by two sons, Keith (Adella), and Eric (Hengameh), by grandchildren Jennifer, Megan, Samantha, Nicholas, Faun, and Alana, and great-grandchildren Inara, Amelia, and Anastasia. She was predeceased by husband Ronald in 2005, by son Harvey in 2002, and by siblings Bill, Reg, Gordon, and Jean. Lois married in 1950, and moved from Kindersley, Saskatchewan to Ronald’s homestead near Partridge Hill, Alberta. Together with their sons, she and Ronald grew the farm from the original quarter section to a thriving mixed operation. Except for three years in the early 90s when Ronald and Lois tried (and failed) to retire into the City of Fort Saskatchewan, Lois lived on the farm for seventy-five years, until she was 97 years old.
Lois loved working with her hands, and into her 80s and 90s she would be out puttering around the yard. She was part of the Partridge Hill Community Club and the United Church Women. A patient and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, every kid in the family spent many days being looked after by Lois at the farmhouse. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and whose lives were made better by her calm and steady soul.
A Memorial Service for Lois will be held on January 10, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM, at Partridge Hill Community Hall, 22002 Township Rd 542, Fort Saskatchewan, AB
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute through the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
