Mr. Michael Onischuk, late of Fort Saskatchewan, formerly of Vernon, BC passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the age of 51 years. He is survived by his loving family; 4 children, Kodi-Anne Higgins of Edmonton, Shanda Higgins of Calgary, Stacey Onischuk of Maple Ridge, BC and Michael Onischuk Jr of Calgary; 3 grandchildren, Taylor Amanda Del-Anne Onishuk, Aiden William Higgins-Gullion and Mason Murray McBrien; 1 sister, Tammi Reid; as well as numerous other family and many dear friends; especially Perry Balak of Fort Saskatchewan; a trusted lifelong friend of Mike.
Michael is predeceased by his daughter, Amanda Lijette Onischuk (Aug 31, 2009), his parents, Szymon Onischuk (Oct 21, 1999) and Lilijana Onischuk (Nov 20, 2006), his sister, Luba Jacobson (Feb 26, 2013) and his brother, Shawn Cartwright (June 27, 2013)
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Memorial Riverview Chapel, 11090 – 86 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan, with Yvonne Racine celebrant. Donations in Michael’s memory gratefully accepted directly to STARS Air Rescue, or Heart and Stroke Foundation, or Make-A-Wish Foundation.
