Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, on October 26, 1943, Sharyn moved to New Toronto as a child.
Sharyn is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Harvey MacDearmid.
Sharyn was the devoted mother of Sue (Dave) Naugler, Steve MacDearmid, Scott (Ida Dredge) MacDearmid, and Donna (Brad) Reid. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished her role as grandmother to 11 grandchildren, Luke, Zach, Jake, Kristy, Conner, Mason, Jennifer, Ashley, Samantha, Harvi, and Mariah and as great-grandmother to Jeremy, Taylor, Isla, Ryan, Austin, and Ayla.
Sharyn worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in Toronto before continuing her career with Maritime Telephone and Telegraph in Nova Scotia. Later, she worked alongside her husband at Bruce Motor Group.
A talented knitter, Sharyn created countless handmade sweaters, each a symbol of her love and thoughtfulness. She had a deep affection for animals, country music and travelling.
Sharyn’s life was one of quiet impact, full of dedication to family and the simple joys of everyday living. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A private family gathering will be held in her honor at a later date.
