Annatta JoAnn Jones, cherished wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, after a life dedicated to her loving family. Known for her boundless energy, supportive presence, and fierce loyalty to those she loved, she was the heart and soul of the Jones family.
Annatta was born to Clyde Carlile Sr. and JoAnne Fitzgerald Carlile in Fort Smith, AR, and attended Southside High School. She met her husband, Steve Jones, while working as a secretary at J&B Supply in 1979. Steve and Annatta fell in love and together raised four children. Annatta supported her husband, Steve, in his role as owner of J&B Supply throughout their 43 years of marriage. She took great pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, actively participating in the lives of her children and grandchildren and celebrating all their achievements. She was a member of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church. Annatta enjoyed traveling the world (especially the beach), cheering on the Razorbacks, and spending summer weekends with family at Lake Ouachita.
Annatta is survived by her husband, Steve Jones; her brother, Clyde Carlile Jr.; her children, Eric Jones, Lori Conn and her husband Tim, Cindy Ridley, and Brent Jones and his wife Rachel. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Trent, Samantha, Tyler, and Elizabeth Conn; Katie Bowen; Ryan and Drew Ridley; and Cameron and Stevie Jones.
Family and friends are invited to attend Annatta’s visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, February 21st, at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, at 11:00 AM at Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church in Fort Smith, with a graveside service to follow at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith.
