He was preceded in death by his father, Randall Marion Johnson, whom he dearly loved and respected. He is survived by his mother Melba Lee Johnson of Fort Smith, one son Joseph (Joey) Johnson of Greenwood, Arkansas, one daughter, Randi Johnson of California, four sisters, Marla Acosta of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Susan Attee of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jennifer Koplin of Draper, Utah, Joni Rogers of Fort Smith, and one brother Randall “Skip” Johnson of Fort Smith. He is also survived by six nephews, one niece; five great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Billy will be missed by his family very much. He had a great sense of humor and made us laugh all the time. If he knew we were being bullied or teased he would ride his Harley all the way from California to be the big brother everyone wants. Just thinking about him makes us smile.
After high school (Southside) and some college (Westark), Billy joined the Navy and was stationed out of San Jose, California on the USS Coral Sea. He served in Vietnam and was proud to be an American.
Billy was blessed with many natural gifts. He was an artist and photographer. Billy loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a true friend to many.
Cremation will be by Fentress Funeral home. His friends from the VA Harley Davidson group will take Billy on his “last ride” to scatter his ashes. Burial will be at the Fort Smith National Cemetery where our father, Randall Marion Johnson was also laid to rest. The date will be determined. In lieu of flowers we encourage you to make a donation to (B.A.C.A.) Bikers Against Child Abuse River Valley Chapter PO Box 180955 Ft. Smith, AR 72918. Billy had great respect for this organization. Or donate to the charity of one’s choice.
