

He was born July 5, 1945 in Dallas, TX to Leonard “Ted” and Catheryn Brown Abbott. He was a member of Harvest Time and a US Army Veteran that served in the Vietnam War earning several medals including a bronze star. Bobby worked in the car business for several years as a finance & insurance manager and he retired as a volunteer from The First Tee of Fort Smith after 10 years of service. Bobby enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 53 years Margaret Ann Hathcock Abbott of the home; two daughters, Tracey Webb (Raymondia McKay) of Muldrow, OK & Amy Abbott of Fort Smith; one son and daughter-n-law, Wesley & Chelsey Abbott of Roland, OK; six grandchildren, Jacob & Jessie Webb of Muldrow, Ok, Chance Dority who is currently serving in Qatar, Sebastian Chandler of Fort Smith, Mollie Abbott & Nick Woods of Muldrow, OK, Dylan & Brayden Abbott of Roland, OK, three great grandchildren, Samuel & Aubrey Webb and Grace Woods of Muldrow, OK; one sister, Cathy Shellnut and husband Hollis of Princeton, TX; brother-n-law, Mike Hathcock and sister-n-law Paula & Jim Fowles of Altoga, TX and several cousins, nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Teddy Abbott.
Funeral service will be 10 AM, Friday, September 10, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will be 11 AM, Friday, September 10, 2021 at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 PM till 7 PM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Edwards Funeral Home. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
