

Boyd Ray (BR) Gipson, 70, of Greenwood, passed away December 15, 2017 in Greenwood. Boyd was born June 12, 1947 in Littlefield Texas to Telsie and Charlie Gipson. He was a retired Civil Service worker and Proud Army Veteran who earned two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart while serving in Vietnam.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Edwards Chapel with interment at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith immediately following the service with Military Honors under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice; three sons, Rod Gipson and wife Jennifer of Greenwood, Greg Gipson and wife Karen of Fort Smith, Chris Gipson and fiancé Sherri of Fort Smith; four siblings, Charlene Kelly, Raymond Gipson, Mary Sherman and Idus and Veda Gipson; nine grandchildren, Lauren Nix, Amber and husband Ted Thornton, Alexyss Gipson, Austin Gipson, CJ Gipson, Nick & Kristen Llewellyn (Caleb & Bethany); and one great-grandchild, Jake Ryan Thornton. He was preceded in death by both parents; and two siblings, Jay Gipson and Luthena Hudson.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Chuck, Dallas, Justin and Jimmy Gipson, Tom and Scott Kelly.
Family with visit with friends 5:30-7:00pm Monday at Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
