

Charles Edward “Ed” Williams, 81, of Fort Smith, entered into the presence of his Lord August 3, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born May 23, 1932 in Hackett, AR to Clyde and Kristena Williams. Eddie served 4 years in the Air Force as a Staff Sargeant, was a crew chief on B 29 and KC97 refueling aircrafts while stationed at Barksdale A.F.B. during the Korean Conflict, graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in mechanical engineering, worked 5 years for Oklahoma Gas and Electric, started his own business, Ed Williams Construction Co., was a 32 degree Mason, a devoted member of Midland Heights United Methodist Church for 51 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Clyde Cecil Williams.
Eddie lived a full, rich life at his “car farm” in Hackett. He loved his second home that he lovingly called his “dog house” where his hobby of rebuilding classic cars gave him many hours of pleasure.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth; his daughter, Kristin Armstrong of Fort Smith; granddaughter, Amanda Davis of Van Buren, AR; grandson, Harley Armstrong of Fort Smith, AR; sister, Peggy Payne of Neosho, MO; nephew, Tom Payne of Springfield, MO; great granddaughters, Mackenzie and Mackaiah Medlock of Van Buren, AR; great grandsons, Braeden Vincent and Caleb Armstrong of Fort Smith, AR.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Midland Heights United Methodist Church in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ed’s Tire and Alignment Employees.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday, August 5, 2013, 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Edwards Funeral Home.
