

Clara Rogers, a long-time resident of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, December 10, in Dallas, Texas. She joins her husband of 63 years, John Rogers, who preceded her in death in 2003. In April, Clara bowled in her 50th consecutive Arkansas State Bowling Tournament. She was inducted into the Arkansas State Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1996 and was a charter member of both the Arkansas State Women’s Bowling Association and the Fort Smith Women’s Bowling Association. Clara and John travelled by RV from coast to coast, going to national bowling tournaments, or just going fishing. Survivors include a daughter Joanett and son-in-law Ralph Blackburn; grandsons Charles and John Blackburn; great-grandchildren Lisa and Brian Blackburn, Chelsea Lemmer, and Thomas Omara; great-great-grandchildren Shannon and Jacob Lemmer; and many friends and team mates at Bowling World. Funeral service will Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jim Olienyk, Randy Richard, Don Dennis, Jim Dooley, Lin Rogers, Paul Olienyk, Bobby France, and John Sidler. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men and Women’s Senior Bowling League and the Fort Smith Women’s Bowling Association.
