Deborah Lynn Hanna, 69, died peacefully on Sunday July 22, 2018, in Fayetteville. She was born on December 7, 1948 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Warren G. Taylor and Joann M. Ferrell. She was a graduate of Van Buren High School, and she married David Leon Hanna and the couple had one child together.
Debby attended Van Buren School District. She was a very active student and participated in many student organizations which included Library Club, Annual Staff, Office Staff, Girl’s Glee Club, Glee Club Officer, Triple Trio, Home Ec, FHA, FHA Officer, and was a Senior Beauty Runner up. She continued her education at Westark Junior College in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Debby had a long successful career in accounting and bookkeeping. She was happily retired and enjoying her free time.
Debby was a social, active woman who was involved in Church for the majority of her life. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her sister, reading, music, animals, family get togethers, holidays, and chatting on the phone with friends and family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving mother, an avid animal lover, and always as a person you could lean on.
Debby is survived by her son, Eric Ryan Hanna and wife Morgan Elizabeth Hanna of Fort Smith, AR; one sister, Diane Hays of Van Buren, Arkansas; one brother-in-law, Philip Hays of Van Buren, Arkansas; one nephew, Jason Dax Hays and Jennifer Collins of Van Buren, Arkansas; and her rescue cat, Lady Punkin. She was preceded in death by her father, Warren G. Taylor; and her mother, Joann M. Taylor.
A graveside service to celebrate Debby’s life will be held at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, Arkansas 11:00am Friday August 3, 2018. A memorial reception will take place following the service at her parent’s house in Van Buren, Arkansas. The date and time will be updated on www.edwardsfuneralhome.com
