

Don Dickelman, 71 of Fort Smith, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. He was born September 28, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Edwin and Geneva Brown Dickelman. He was retired from Quanex Corporation, where he worked for 30 years as a metallurgist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Don was an avid bass tournament fisherman and former member of the Fort Smith Bass Club. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Ila Jane Zollicoffer.
There will be no services, he will be cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary in Fort Smith.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, of the home; a daughter, Kim Hatcher and her husband James of Bentonville; a son, Edwin Dickelman and his wife Faye, of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Lee Allen Dickelman of Crested Butte, CO; six grandchildren, Elliot, Austin, and Cash Dickelman, Kaitlyn, Bailey and Alex Hatcher. He is also survived by a niece, Jennifer Gray and her husband Chris, of Oklahoma City and a nephew, James Zollicoffer of North Dakota.
