

Donald E. Palmatary, 90 of Rogers, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born on December 7, 1930 in Elkton, Maryland to the late Aaron F. Sr. and Madeline Payne Palmatary. He was retired from Rheem Manufacturing Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and served as President of the Eastside Sertoma Club in 1973, 1999 and served as the Sertoma International Governor of Arkansas from 1974 to 1976. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Palmatary and four brothers.
A private memorial service will be held at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with interment of ashes at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
He is survived by his son, Donald Palmatary (Karen) of New Bern, North Carolina; six sisters, Dorris Munro (John) of Wilmington, Delaware, Elaine Smith (late Elliot) of Salem, North Carolina, Sara Jane Pennington (Vance Sr.) of Newark, Delaware, Catherine Parkinson (John) of Claymont, Delaware, Gladys Taylor (Bayard) of New Market, Maryland, and JoAnn Borror (late Eugene) of Cochranville, Pennsylvania; a brother, Harvey Palmatary (Bonnie) of Lock Haven, Maryland; three grandchildren, Larry Palmatary (Thelma), Melissa Erwin (Chris) and Richard Palmatary (Mary). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins
