Doris Ann Perkins

Doris Perkins, 63, of Spiro, OK, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, in Fort Smith, AR. She was a 1982 Graduate of CAJC in Poteau, OK and a 1986 Graduate of NESU in Tahlequah, OK. She served as a Social Worker in Arkansas. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, cooking, gardening and various arts and crafts. She was a friend and caregiver to many. She was preceded in death by her father Edison Barnes, her brother Doyle Barnes and husband Tommy Perkins.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with Rev. Bryan Fouts officiating. Burial of cremains at New Hope Cemetery near Spiro, OK.

She is survived by a daughter Sheryl Smith of Spiro, son Michael L. Dees of Paragould, AR, mother Cordia Barnes of Spiro, three brothers Ronnie Barnes, Gilbert Barnes and James Barnes all of Spiro and two grandsons Mitchell Edison Dees of Jonesboro, AR and Bobby Wayne Smith of Spiro, OK.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Barnes, Allen Barnes, Carl Barnes, Randy Barnes, B. J. Barnes and Harlen Barnes. Memorials may be made to the Crisis Intervention Center, 5603 South 14th Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901.
